"Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." Phillippians 2:3-4

Society doesn’t value humility today. And it certainly doesn’t encourage a life of servanthood. Society says we “deserve” the best and the newest; that we should do whatever.makes.us.”happy.”  And let’s just be real here, society is not just some faceless “them”. It’s us. Our own selfish, inward-focused eyes tell us the same thing. But those are not God’s words. God’s word tells us to live lives of humility. God’s word tells us  to put others before ourselves. God’s word tells us to live a life of servanthood. And when you’re a Christ-follower, when you seek Him, when you read His word, you realize His ways are not the ways of the world. We are called to bigger things and only through the transforming power of Christ in us are we able to live it out. “In humility value others above yourselves”…and when we do lives change, our lives and those we serve in Him.
